When you open an account with a broker through a link on this site, the broker may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing and it does not change the terms you get. Links that can earn a commission are marked as sponsored in the page code.
Placements
Brokers can pay for placement in labelled positions, such as the sponsored strip on the homepage and the sponsored results in the directory. Every paid placement carries a label saying so.

Paid relationships can influence where a broker is displayed but do not directly determine editorial scores, regulatory records, complaint publication or user-review sentiment. Sponsored positions are labelled.
What it does not affect
Broker scores remain subject to editorial review, data checks and scoring criteria and cannot be changed solely by purchasing a placement. Commercial relationships may correlate with coverage or placement, but payment alone never sets a score. Rankings print the rule they are ordered by, and the figure beside each broker is the one the rule uses.
The editorial score and the user rating are separate values, and every change to a score is logged with the inputs that caused it.
