Currency converter

Convert between thirty currencies at the European Central Bank's daily reference rate.

Rates are the European Central Bank's daily fix of 2026-09-03, refreshed on the site twice a day.

About these rates

The European Central Bank publishes reference rates for around thirty currencies against the euro once a day, at about 16:00 Central European time, based on the market at that moment. They are the rates used for accounting, contracts and statistics across Europe, and the converter uses them because they are free, consistent and documented. The site refreshes them twice a day, so they are at most a day behind.

They are not the rate a broker will give you. A broker's bid and ask sit either side of the market with a spread, a card issuer or bank adds a margin to the interbank rate, and a broker's deposit conversion usually carries a fee. The converter tells you the mid-market value of an amount; the difference between that and what you receive is the conversion cost, which the deposits and withdrawals section of each broker review records where the broker publishes it.

The table

The table under the result shows one unit of the currency you are converting from against every other currency in the list, which is the quickest way to see where a currency stands. Everything on the page is calculated in the browser from a single set of rates against the US dollar, so the cross rates are consistent with each other.
